Florian Wieduwilt, a doctoral candidate in the “Photonic Sensing” department, is dedicated to developing analytical applications based on Raman spectroscopic methods in his dissertation project. These technologies can be used, among other things, in the analysis of pharmaceuticals to help identify medication errors.
He presented his research findings at this year’s “SPIE Photonics Europe 2024” conference in Strasbourg, a prestigious interdisciplinary event organized by the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE). His presentation, titled “Analysis of Infusion Solutions Using a Multisensory Approach Consisting of Raman Spectroscopy, Refractometry, and UV/Vis Spectroscopy to Prevent Medication Errors,” was delivered at the sub-conference “Biophotonics in Point-of-Care” and was awarded the “Best Student Paper Award” by the conference’s scientific committee.
